About
the Artist
Dynva
Todd
takes inspiration from her childhood in the South and in Hawaii,
from her Cherokee roots and her love of the American Southwest.
She is drawn to primitive art styles, primarily Native American
and African, and works with a variety of media, including charcoal
drawings, oil paintings, kiln fired and
pit fired clay masks, feathered
wreaths and dreamcatchers.
Most recently she has concentrated on gourd pyrography,
sculptures and masks.
" I love the rawness of art using mostly natural materials
such as feathers, shells, skulls, horse hair and gourds. I try to
instill a spirituality to my art which speaks to the beauty and
agony of this world." |
